Spring Equinox: Coming Home to Your Internal Compass
@womenart1
Spring greetings,
This week is home to the Spring Equinox, the halfway point between the Winter and Summer Solstice.
It's also happening amidst eclipses and planetary transits,
a feast for the soul you could say.
The table is set with dishes of balance, heart utensils, and cups of liquid sun.
A celebration and ceremony to regroup and redefine what balance means for us, what the heart is committed to, what shapes we're growing into,
what the path of dharma looks like in this season.
That all sounds lovely, right?! But it may not feel so lovely because we're human, susceptible to conditioning and undigested experiences, and resistant to change.
But we can look to nature for gentle coaxing and motivation.
Nature acts as a mirror for us to see ourselves in.
We see this through myth, archetypal psychology, and symbolism.
This can help us remember our internal compass, the one that lives in the heart.
So, what does the Spring Equinox point toward?
With equal parts day and night, it illuminates balance. But balance that is adaptable, dynamic, and not fixed; the days don't stay equal part day and night forever. And balance does not mean our lives look a certain way- I've come to experience it as the capacity to be with whats here and tend to it. In that way balance is a moment to moment to expression of how we are being in relationship with ourselves, one another, and life.
The sun is returning and the sun represents the soul, our commitments, and devotion. It is a planet that knows sacrifice is a part of staying true to our heart and path; sacrifice is a part of what sustains our inner light (as I was taught by me teacher).
Questions to contemplate, chew on, write out:
Where in my life do things feel our of balance? How do I know this? What do I need to feel more harmony within my soma (body, mind, emotions, relations, spirit)?
If you imagine or connect with a time you experienced balance, what does it feel like in you bones, tissues, and cells? What wants to happen? In what direction does balance move you?
What are you devoted to? What are you committed to in your heart? What sacrifices need to be made to honor that?
Becoming curious about these questions and embodying the answers is like fertilizer, water, and sunlight for what you're are growing into.
