community workshops & special events

  • A Movement and Meditation practice marked by the New Year in the Gregorian calendar and the heart of the Celtic Omens days in the nature-based calendar of the ancients. Join me in a journey of embodied movement, breath, self-inquiry, soul, and spiritual exploration to savor the wisdom that lives in retreat.

[Retreat from the systems that hinder our inner knowing,

Retreat from the noise that drowns out our inner voice

Retreat from the dissonant expectations that stifle our deepest desires

And remember, remember, remember the belonging, the value, the support, the inspiration, the love, the wholeness that is already yours

That pulses in your veins and rests in your marrow

    That lives in you]

    All levels welcome.

    At Cowee School.

  • The end of October/beginning of November is the halfway point between the Fall Equinox and Winter Solstice.

Historically celebrated as the New Year in many ancient Celtic cultures.

Tis and twas a time of mystical experience and mythical exploration.

As the veil thins and the density between the seen and unseen dwindle, the otherworldly realms evoke the part of us experiencing decay and eventual resurrection.

    With loss, there is grief.

With loss, there is newfound space.

    With loss, comes resurrection

With loss, life takes on a different shape.

With loss, potential bubbles in the cauldron.

    With loss, old walls crumble.

With loss, the foundation can be rebuilt.

With loss, love deepens and expands.

    With loss, life thrives.

This class will move through a gentle, restorative Yoga practice with plenty of space to feel into and breathe into what is in decay and what potential lives in its place.

There will be time for meditation to sip from the holy grail of wholeness and enoughness so that we may remember our most essential truths.

In conclusion, we will explore communion with the unseen and the cosmic intelligence that nurtures life through a tarot reading, self-inquiry, embodiment, and intimate dialogue.

Please bring something to write on or with and an empty mug for a caffeine free herbal tea.

    All levels welcome.

Donations can be made online or in-person.

    Space is limited.

  • Join us for an intentional practice as we shift into Autumn and welcome a new season of potential and medicinal properties

Autumn marks the transition from long, warm, sunny, lively, robust days of Summer to crisp mornings, dwindling daylight, cozy weather, wood-burning fires, decay, and permission to slow down.

In most authentic wisdom traditions and spiritual practices, the seasons were a reference point and compass for navigating our own lived experience and internal world.

This practice will be an intentional flow of slow movement, breath-work, mindfulness, mantra meditation, cacao ceremony, and somatic integration to explore what invitations Autumn has for you.

If you are feeling the call to reintegrate a more holistic approach to your life, well-being, and spirituality, this is a lovely, accessible opportunity.

Ashlyn will be guiding the movement, meditation, and somatic integration portion of class and Narda will be facilitating the cacao ceremony and holding space.

If you are unfamiliar with the purpose of a cacao ceremony, Narda has shared a beautiful description:

Cacao has been used in the ceremonies of many American ancient tribes long before we learned how to make chocolate out of it. It has many health benefits that have been proven by cacao takers to support our physical and energetic bodies. Cacao takes root from South and Central America where the ancient Mayan civilization occupied the Western land of the Andes Mountains. The aroma and magical benefits of the cacao trees captured the attention of the Mayan tribe. The ancient Mayans of Belize treated cacao as the “Food of the God” under the name “Theobroma cacao”. “Theo” stands for “food” and “Broma” stands for “God”.

Benefits of Cacao: heart opener, heightens meditation, nurtures creativity, elevates energy, clears the mind, cultivates peace.

Ashlyn is one of the main reasons I decided to further my yoga education. I took many classes with her at my local yoga studio. As an instructor and a regular person, she was always inspirational. Under her instruction, I found myself with the desire and curiosity to learn more and continue to learn more in this journey. She brought a beautiful zen and peace to her classroom. You always felt relaxed or refreshed after a session. I also attended a few workshops with her and learned so much. I would love to have 1/10th of her Zen and the peace she exudes.

— Liz patrus

I have been practicing yoga with Ashlyn for years now and find her to be the most loving, kind, intuitive instructor. She offers yoga that can be practiced by the novice to the highly experienced and always offers positional alternative and modifications. She varies each class so I never get bored with the same moves and get to use different muscles and balances in different classes. Ashlyn is constantly growing and learning, more recently becoming an Ayurveda certified healer. Take a yoga class or healing class with Ashlyn, you will not be disappointed and will probably learn something new!

— Charlene Kozloff

I have taken Ashlyn’s yoga classes, moon meditation ceremonies and “yoga private” class, a 4 week series on the philosophy of yoga and Ayurveda. Ashlyn is a wonderful, intuitive, caring teacher and I can’t wait for the next session to start!

— Kathleen Healy

Ashlyn MIller is an amazing yoga instructor and Yogi. If you have not attended one of her classes, you are missing a truly excellent and healthy experience. Give it a try and Namaste.
