Well-being Redefined
Well-being is not a stagnant, fixed point.
Well-being is not the absence of dis-ease.
Well-being is an inclusive experience that touches every aspect of you-- body-mind-soul.
Well-being is a consistent tending to the whole garden of you.
It is a dynamic dance we are engaged with as long as we draw breath.
It is relational; a dialogue with the body-mind-soul expression.
It is rooted in compassionate curiosity and self-awareness.
This is whole person well-being.
A shift from addressing the individual as fragmented parts to tending to the individual as a whole with interconnected layers.
And acknowledging that what is happening within one layer creates a ripple effect out into the whole.
This looks like tending to the needs of the physical body through foods that nourish, replenish life force, and resonate with your unique bodily constitution.
It means implementing practices that create integrity in your bones, tissues, muscles, fluids, and systems.
It is an opportunity to listen to the invitations of your bodily sensations and learn to respond accordingly.
It is the practice of remembering that we are a micro of the macro and therefore move through seasons that require us to adapt.
It is a reclaiming of our innate intelligence that is always trying to assert its support to move us toward dynamic harmony.
This approach to well-being acknowledges the mind and emotions and the importance of cultivating time, space, permission, and support to tend to the mental chatter, beliefs, inner archetypes, habituated patterns, emotional needs, and nervous system resilience so that we can show up and take responsibility for our life with greater clarity, grace, and fortitude.
It shines a light on the deep, intricate layer of soul that lives within each being, longing to express itself fully, embrace its creative genius, and uncover and evolve its gifts as a part of its actualization.
Whole person well-being holds in reverence the source beneath it all (Spirit/God/Divine/insert term of choice) and actively carves out time to remember it so that we may embody the totality of our existence, becoming free from everything we think defines us.
Whole person well-being is relational in nature and invites us all back to the root of love so that way may expand our capacity to see and be seen, to hear and be heard, to feel and be felt, to live and be lived, to love and be loved, to realize and be realized.
This is what I have come to understand as well-being in short and what we move towards in our Wholistic Alchemy Containers.
